Destiny 2: Where to find Xur for the weekend of August 9

Seasoned Destiny 2 players know that every Friday they can count on the elusive merchant Xur to make an appearance with special exotic items, but what’s not so clear is where you’ll be able to find him. Below, you’ll find a map with a marker that indicates where Xur is and his list of wares.

If you’re new to Destiny 2 and need a bit more information about how this works, you’ll need to know that Xur is a special vendor who sells exotic weapons and armor. Each week, he comes to the solar system with a slate of goods, including an exotic weapon and one piece of Exotic armor for each character class. Lately, he’s also been carrying Fated Engrams, which guarantee players an exotic drop they don’t already have, from the collection of exotics from before the release of Forsaken. As of March 12, 2019, he also sells gear exclusive to Forsaken.

The trouble with Xur is finding him. We always know when Xur will show up — at the daily reset on Friday, so 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern. The question is where Xur is. While previously in Destiny 2, Xur’s location was marked on the map each weekend, he’s now unmarked and thus tougher to find each weekend. Here’s where you need to go to track down Xur, the Agent of the Nine, and everything you need to know about what he’s offering this week.

Where is Xur and his wares for the week

(August 9 – August 13)

You can find Xur on Nessus this week, located near the Watcher’s Grave area. Spawn into this part of the map and start heading north, but rather than go toward the large tree he used to be located at, look farther forward for a giant floating ship. Climb to the top of this ship and go to the far edge and you’ll find Xur waiting for you.

And here’s what Xur has for wares:

The Colony — 29 Legendary Shards: The Colony grenade launcher is available to all players this week. The weapon offers increased handling speed, stability, projectile speed, blast radius, and reloading speed. It also features grenades the are actually small  robots that chase down targets before detonating, and the magazine will be reloaded when it’s unequipped.

Chromatic Fire (Warlocks) — 23 Legendary Shards: The Chromatic Fire chest armor is available to Warlocks with the Forsaken expansion. The armor offers increased mobility and health recovery, as well as increased chance of finding primary ammunition after a kill. It also reduces flinching when aiming auto rifles and trace rifles, and precision kills with kinetic weapons will add an explosion based on your sub-class.

Shards of Galanor (Hunters) — 23 Legendary Shards: Hunters who own Forsaken can get the Shards of Galanor gauntlets from Xur this week. The gauntlets offer increased mobility and resilience, as well as increased chance of finding special ammunition on a kill. Melee damage will reduce your grenade cooldown, and hits and kills with the Blade Barrage ability will give you super energy once the ability has ended.

ACD/0 Feedback Fence  (Titans) — 23 Legendary Shards: Titans can get the ACD/o Feedback Fence from Xur this week. The gauntlets offer increased resilience and health recovery, as well as increased chance of finding special ammunition after a kill. They also reduce your melee cooldown after dealing grenade damage, and melee kills build energy. When hit by melee attacks your incoming damage is then lowered and you unleash an explosion.

Isochronal Engram — 97 Legendary Shards: You can only buy one of these Engrams per week, per account, but if you’re filling out your exotic collection, it’s worth it. The Fated Engram automatically gives you something you’re missing from the Destiny 2 Year 1 exotic set, and now Forsaken as well.

Five of Swords: Xur is also offering the Five of Swords challenge this week. This challenge introduces modifiers to Prestige Nightfall missions for increased rewards.
